So today I had the wonderful Kayleigh, a book blogger from the UK, here with us. She runs her blog: k-booksxo.blogspot.com and I often find myself err… stalking her to read her book reviews before reading them myself. She’s one of my favorite bloggers and I can’t wait for you to ‘know’ her better. Take some time to check out her guest post about her top 5s in Authors, Books, and Book Bloggers. Oh, also, be sure to leave a comment :).
So without much wait… Here’s Kayleigh!
My name is Kayleigh and I run a little book blog called K-Books. I’m so excited that Priya asked me to do a guest post for her. Initially we were going to do a Top 15 post but I just couldn’t decide what to do it on so we decided to split it into three Top 5. So here I give you my Top 5 Authors, Books and Bloggers.
And because I like a bit of suspense I will count down from 5 to 1 and leave you all hanging waiting for my number 1s hehehe 😛
Top 5 Authors:
5. Wendy Higgins
Ever since reading the incredible Sweet Evil I have been completely obsessing over Wendy’s books. They are just amazing and I love Wendy to pieces. She is so awesome and sweet. I adore her and I seriously cannot wait for the third Sweet Trilogy book.
Fave Book: Sweet Peril (Sweet Trilogy #2)
4. Trisha Wolfe
Ever since Trisha sent me her self-published novella Unveiled (to then become the prequel to her upcoming series) I have been obsessed with all of her work. I am a huge fan and feel lucky enough to call Trisha a friend. She is epically awesome and crazy… a bit like me. I seriously cannot wait to read more of her work. Every single book is amazing and I will forever be an obsessive fan!
Fave Book: Fireblood (Fireblood #1)
3. Janelle Stalder
I have been lucky enough to be friends with Janelle for years and when she sent me a signed copy of her book Eden I couldn’t wait to read it. It blew me away and was the first epic fantasy book that I read and loved. Since then I have been such a huge fan and there is nothing… literally nothing this woman can write that I do not love. I am a huge fan for life.
Fave Book: Eden-East (Eden #4)
2. Melissa West
Let me just tell you that if you haven’t read Melissa’s Gravity then you seriously need to. It’s one of the best series I have ever read. Ever since reading it I have been dying to get a hold of anything Melissa writes. She is such a phenomenally talented author. I adore her to pieces and am guilty of completely stalking her asking for more books!
Fave Books: Hover (The Taking #2)
1. Jennifer L Armentrout / J. Lynn
You’re not actually surprised are you? Ever since reading Obsidian in 2011 I developed an obsession! No seriously. I have read every single one of Jenn’s books multiple times (Obsidian like 9 times). I can’t get enough and she will forever by my fave author of all time. I mean seriously all of her books are my favourite of all time. She is a writing goddess and I’m constantly stalking her going when’s the next book? I NEED IT NOOOOOWWWWW!
Seriously I am a JLA addict and her books are seriously my drug!
Fave Book: Frigid
Honourable Mentions: Cecelia Ahern, Paige Toon, Jus Accardo, Rachel Harris and Cora Carmack
Top 5 Books:
Now to switch it up a bit I am not including ANY books from the Top 5 authors I listed up there! Obviously I adore their books and they are some of my favourites otherwise they wouldn’t be in my favourite authors so to show you more of a range I have chose other books.
5. Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2) by Sarah J. Maas
I fell in love with this series last year when I read the first one Throne of Glass and it is one of the best books I have ever read. It’s such a phenomenal and addictive fantasy novel. I unmissable series. I adored it.
4. Faking It (Losing It #2) by Cora Carmack
I am such a huge fan of Cora and Faking It just had something extra special. This is without a doubt my favourite NA of all time (not counting JLA’s because… well… they are JLA).
I adored this book so much and would recommend it to everyone.
3. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
In my opinion this is without a doubt my favourite classic of all time. I fell head over heels in love with this book when I first read it about 8 or 9 years ago. Since then I have read it a total of 8 times. I just adore this tortured love story and with me loving it so much I can see this as the starting point for so many paranormal love stories. I adore this book and even if you don’t like classics I would suggest this. Even if it’s just for you to see the starting point of gothic romance books which have now progressed to adding paranormal creatures.
2. PS, I Love You by Cecelia Ahern
One thing that not a lot of my followers know is that I adore Chick Lit. It’s the genre I actually started with and there are two books that grabbed me into this genre. PS I Love You being one of them. Cecelia Ahern is one of the first authors I ever read and loved and it was this book that made me love the genre so much. I mainly read Paranormal and Dystopia novels now but Chick Lit is where I started and I will always love it. PS I Love You is one of the most moving and beautiful and heartbreaking books I have ever read and I adore it so much.
1. Lucy In The Sky by Paige Toon
Paige Toon is one of my heroes. I mean seriously when I was at school I barely read. I didn’t really see the fuss and how reading could be enjoyable. Then somebody recommended that I read this book… so I did. And I fell in love with it! Lucy has this incredible and phenomenal talent for story telling and character building and I have since read every single one of her books and fell in love with them all. These are seriously my favourite books of all time. Nathan was my first ever book boyfriend. The first character I fell head over heels in love with.
Wanna know why I fell in love with reading and why I am a blogger now? It is all down to Paige Toon. I wouldn’t be here writing this post without her. It’s all down to her why I fell in love with reading. And she will forever be one of my favourite authors of all time. I love Paige and she will always be my hero!
